SHINE Historical Archives 1996 – 2021

Completed: 1996 – 2005
The remaining years are in work.

What are SHINE Workshops?

SHINE stands for Solar Heliospheric and INterplanetary Environment. It is an affiliation of researchers within the solar, interplanetary, and heliospheric communities, dedicated to promoting an enhanced understanding of the processes by which energy in the form of magnetic fields and particles are produced by the Sun and/or accelerated in interplanetary space and on the mechanisms by which these fields and particles are transported to the Earth through the inner heliosphere.

Unlike many annual conferences (e.g., AGU, SPD, ICRC) SHINE sessions are not a series of talks interspersed with short discussion.  The goal of a SHINE session is to generate involved and constructive discussion on a topic of keen interest to the participants.

How can I access past workshop materials and presentations?

You can access past workshop materials and presentations prior to 2022 on this website dedicated to SHINE historical archives. Materials for SHINE 2022 to present are available in the Past Meetings section of helioshine.org.

What materials are available from the SHINE workshops?

Workshop agendas, abstract lists, and participant lists may be available. Plenary, scene setting, and Student Day presentations may be available depending on whether they were collected by the SHINE organizers and provided by the speakers following each SHINE. Working Group session summary reports or Progress and Prospects reports describing the discussion topics and outcomes for each SHINE session may be available, if the session organizers provided the presentations to the SHINE organizers. Photos are displayed in photo galleries for that year if any were found in the directories of the previous SHINE website.
